Heinrich Maria DAVRINGHAUSEN (Aix La Chapelle 1894 - Nice 1970) Abstract composition Oil on board, signed lower right and dated 60 ? 47 x 56 cm Heinrich-Maria DA VRINGHAUSEN was the precursor and principal representative of German New Objectivity (Neue Sachlichkeit), a friend of George Grosz and John Heartfield. He was the creator of the first purist group in Cologne in the late 1920s, forced into exile in 1933 under the name Henri DAVRING. He was a fellow prisoner of Max Ernst.
